Dr. Nettra Pan (2021)

Brief

Dr. Nettra Pan is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) at Bayes Business School. At Bayes, Nettra studies and teaches purpose-driven innovation and entrepreneurship; the process through which companies, individuals and teams discover, build and distribute products and services that provide personal meaning. Her teaching, at the Masters and Executive levels, favors an interactive and experiential approach, pairing evidence-based startup insights with practical, hands-on exercises and voices from the field. Her research, published in outlets such as the Academy of Management Review, explains how founder and investor cognition affects opportunities pursued, new venture identity and alternative metrics of performance. In the past, Nettra worked with for-profit and non-profit organizations to design and improve initiatives addressing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Recently, Nettra has begun studying how creative entrepreneurs use web3 technologies to create, share and preserve critical knowledge, organize around socio-political visions and financially support their craft.

Dr. Nettra Pan (she/her) is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) at Bayes Business School, in the Entrepreneurship subject group led by Professor Vangelis Souitaris. At Bayes, Nettra studies purpose-driven innovation and entrepreneurship; the process through which companies, individuals and teams discover, build and distribute products and services that are personally meaningful to them.

Nettra has spent the last 10 years working with founders and investors to understand effective strategies for identifying and working with emerging economic, social and technological trends. In the past, she has worked with for-profit and non-profit organizations to design and improve initiatives addressing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Today, her specific interest is to understand how to design new organizations and decision-making processes that allow teams to create a positive impact in their communities in a financially sustainable way. Recently, after joining several successful digital art projects as a collector, artist and DAO-member, Nettra has begun studying how web3 technologies and philosophies can help humans unleash their creativity and usher us into a thriving and much-needed post-capitalistic society.
